The Casio DB-33W is a highly collectible vintage Databank watch released in 1993.

Powered by the 871 module, it features a 30-record databank, a daily alarm, a countdown timer, and a stopwatch.

Its standout design features two distinct front-facing buttons, including a unique scroll wheel-like button on the right

Key Technical Specifications
  • Memory Capacity: Telememo function capable of storing up to 30 pages of data (8 characters for names and 12 numerals for numbers). [#
  • Case Dimensions: Square design featuring a 33 mm case width, 10 mm thickness, and a 20 mm lug width.
  • Weight: Extremely light at just 24 grams.
  • Core Functions: Equipped with a 24-hour countdown timer, 1/100-second chronograph (stopwatch), 5 multi-function alarms, dual time, and an hourly time signal.
  • Water Resistance: Rated for 50 meters of water resistance.
  • Illumination: Notably lacks a backlight, which is one of the distinct quirks of this specific variant compared to other Data Bank models.
Unique Design Quirks
The DB-33W stands out for its retro-futuristic aesthetic, often described as resembling a prop from a science fiction film. Its most defining feature is the layout of its two front-facing entry buttons:
  • Left Button: A long, oblong button used for data entry and navigation.
  • Right Button: A unique, textured button that looks like a vertical scroll wheel, which actually intrudes directly into the acrylic watch crystal face.
