The Casio Cosmo Phase CGQ-300 is a highly collectible vintage quartz digital alarm clock released by Casio in 1989.

It is the desktop clock counterpart to the famous Casio CGW-50 Cosmo Phase wristwatch.

🪐 Core Astronomical Features
Instead of standard clock graphics, the CGQ-300 features a unique liquid crystal display (LCD) designed for space and astronomy enthusiasts: 
  • Planetary Orbit Graphic: The top section of the screen displays a map of our solar system with the Sun in the centre and the nine planets (including Pluto, which was recognized as a planet in 1989) in their mathematically correct orbital positions. 
  • 300-Year Calendar: It features an internal memory containing orbital paths spanning a 300-year period from 1901 to 2200. 
  • Time Travel Mode: Users can manually input any date within the 300-year window or fast-forward/rewind time to observe how the planets align on specific dates. 
  • Halley's Comet Tracker: The clock automatically tracks and displays the trajectory of Halley's Comet as it shoots around the solar system display, alongside the exact dates of its closest approaches to Earth. 
  • Solar Eclipse Predictor: Calculates and tracks data for past and future total solar eclipses.
