The Casio UC-50W is a rare, highly collectible vintage digital watch originally released by Casio around 1980.
Part of the "Universal Calendar" collection, it is famous for its unique dual-layered digital LCD screen that displays a full-month calendar grid directly on the watch face.
Key Specifications & Features

  • The Universal Calendar: Unlike typical digital watches of its era that only displayed the day and date, the UC-50W features a complete monthly calendar matrix. Users can use the "Forward" and "Reverse" buttons to scroll through and view past or future months ranging from the years 1901 to 2099.
  • Module 79: The watch is powered by Casio's vintage QW79 module.
  • Design & Build: It features a classic silver stainless-steel case measuring roughly 36mm in diameter, paired with a matching metal link bracelet
  • Core Functions: Alongside its signature calendar, it includes standard timekeeping (hours, minutes, seconds), a built-in micro-light, an alarm with a ten-step adjustable tone, a chronograph/stopwatch, and 50 metres (5 bar) of water resistance.
  • Battery: It originally ran on a BR-2016 or CR-2016 coin cell battery.
