The Casio MG-888 is a highly collectible vintage electronic game calculator released by Casio in 1982.
It is widely celebrated among vintage tech enthusiasts and collectors for packaging both standard calculation tools and multiple complex LCD games into a pocket-sized form factor.
Key Features & Gameplay

Unlike typical calculator games of the era (like the famous space invaders-style "Digi-Bombing" on the MG-880), the MG-888 included a selection of three unique built-in games:
  • Game 1: Breakthrough (Interval Attack): A game where players must dodge or break through moving guards to guide digits safely into a blue target zone.
  • Game 2: Progression (Shift Puzzle): A mathematical sliding puzzle where players arrange the numbers 1 through 9 into sequential order. This is done by shifting numbers horizontally along rows and using a rotate feature to swap them vertically.
  • Game 3: Elimination (Lucky Dice): A dice-based numbers game where players roll digital dice and subtract the totals to completely eliminate numbers from 1 to 9 on the screen.
